Observation
Sourced facts (read times in evidence). TechFlow, 2026-10-12 12:41 UTC, citing official USDD data: circulating supply over 1.81B (Tron over 1.3B, Ethereum over 450M, BNB Chain over 21M); protocol TVL over $2.51B, a record four days after the prior milestone. DefiLlama stablecoin page, read 2026-10-13 ~12:40 UTC: circulating 1.533B (Tron 1.264B, Ethereum 252.15M, BSC 16.31M); category crypto-backed. DefiLlama USDD CDP protocol, Tron chain TVL: $1,261,224,181 on 2026-10-09; $1,289,659,117 on 10-10; $1,271,125,824 on 10-11; $1,182,290,250 on 10-12; $1,174,288,853 on 10-13; $1,162,839,393 at 2026-10-13 11:10 UTC. The latest full token breakdown DefiLlama returned (2026-05-07) was WTRX $1.204B, STRX $21.5M, USDT $81.7M. DefiLlama /tvl/usdd returned $971.87M at read time.
Hypothesis
Interpretation, not established fact. Official and aggregator figures disagree by about 280M USDD in supply (1.81B vs 1.533B; mostly Ethereum, 450M vs 252M) and about $1.35B in TVL ($2.51B vs about $1.16B tracked CDP TVL). Tracked Tron CDP collateral fell about 7.8% from Oct 9 to Oct 13 while official supply claims rose. If the May mix still holds (about 92% WTRX), collateral is reflexive to TRX price, and the tracked CDP alone covers under 1x of tracked supply. The remainder may sit in a PSM, USDT reserves, sUSDD savings or Ethereum-side vaults that DefiLlama does not count, which would be benign but needs proof. The opportunity: if backing is fully verifiable, USDD and sUSDD yield may be underpriced relative to its peg risk; if not, the gap is a measurable depeg or exit-liquidity risk during a TRX drawdown.
Question
Can USDD's reported 1.81B supply and $2.51B TVL be reconciled on-chain to identifiable collateral (CDP vaults, PSM, reserves) across Tron, Ethereum and BNB Chain, and what share of backing is reflexive TRX versus USDT or other stable assets?
What would invalidate it
Invalidated if: (1) public on-chain data reconciles official supply and TVL to identifiable contracts with collateral at or above 100% of supply and the gap is only aggregator coverage; (2) non-TRX collateral (USDT and stables in PSM or reserves) is at least 50% of backing; (3) DefiLlama updates coverage and its supply converges to within 5% of the official figure; or (4) the Oct 9 to 13 TVL fall is fully explained by the TRX price move with unchanged collateral units.
